Why Máncora for a retreat

Máncora lives where warm Pacific swells meet Peru’s desert-tropical coast. It is lively, surfy, and golden at sunset. Morning mats. Salt on your skin. Bright food. Evenings that hum with music and conversation. This is a reset you can feel in your body and take back into your life.

What the week actually feels like

You wake to the sound of waves, move through an accessible yoga and meditation practice, then linger over fresh breakfast. Lunch is light and local so the afternoon flows. Between swims and naps, we gather for creative workshops that help you set intentions and clear space inside. If you feel called, you can join authentic shamanic ceremonies held by Peruvian healers. Everything on the schedule is an invitation. Rest when your body asks for it. Join when it says yes.

Home for the week is a boutique retreat hotel made for good sleep and easy mornings. Choose the way you rest best. Private room to cocoon. Shared double for a roomie vibe. Multiple-bed room that still feels calm and comfortable. You will also have three surf sessions with kind local guides who know these waters well. First wave or already in love with the ocean, you will be held with care. Extra sessions can be added on site if your body wants more salt and stoke.

We can help. If you want support arranging your transfer from any of these airports to Máncora, email us via the site contact form or reply to your retreat confirmation and we will share trusted drivers and options that match your arrival time.

Prefer the scenic overland route

Comfortable overnight buses run from Lima to Máncora. Expect about 18 to 20 hours with semi-cama or cama seats depending on the company and class. You will board in Lima’s Plaza Norte or Javier Prado terminals and arrive in central Máncora.

When to come and what the weather is like

Northern Peru is warm year-round. The hot season runs roughly January to May with average daytime highs above 29–30°C. The cooler season is July to October with average daytime highs just under 27°C. Water is warmest late summer and early autumn, and coolest around September. Pack light layers and strong sun protection.

Seasonal magic. Humpback whales visit the Piura and Tumbes coast roughly July through October. If you plan extra time in that window you can book a morning whale-watching trip from nearby piers.

What your mancora surf and yoga retreat includes
